Plus it is just more fun to see those big crits all the time. I have been favoring crit and multistrike gear. I have been actively dropping mastery on all my gear because of the lack of ability to stand still for any amount of time in group battles. The MM Lone Wolf spec does really heavy hits and it is just more fun. I am perfectly happy to drop a trap and wait for kill shot to come off CD to ensure a kill when getting trained for example. I see lots of hunters that are unwilling to drop a frost trap and get away when a target is at low health. The thing I learned from the very good is that you do everything to keep range at the cost of damage. I have mostly played DK since wrath and I have seen some very good and very bad hunters over the years. I see other hunters in games that seem to be happy to face tank a melee until they die.
The only buttons I give up for lone wolf are master's call and roar of sacrifice, but I find that between concussive shot, disengage, frost trap, explosive trap, deter that I can keep a single good melee off me and multiple mediocre melee off me. Arena, yeah spirit bond and easy/riskless pet damage is king.

Mostly because of the super high burst in short windows that can help you land kills in group battles where healers might be occupied. I have been playing lone wolf mostly in BGs and I find it better than the pet options. Be aware of the multiboxer problem though. It's the only server I've found that has a sliver of community. 2h frost has one thing above DW with its insane burst on cloth and leather wearers, maybe useful in some kind of burst 2s comp.Įmerald Dream has the most balanced ratio last time I checked, and the PvP is very active. The only viable spec for high rated DK PvP is DW frost, sadly. Worst class - Warriors assuming they don't have a healer.įire mages have great burst and I find them more fun than frost. In every other PvP situation you want to go with a pet to get spirit bond.
Even then you would want to stack mastery, not versa. Lone wolf is only good for situations where you wont be taking any damage, like ashran. You could pick your talents and spec with a blindfold on and still not get touched by melee characters outside of their gapclosers. And get shit on by any melee that looks at you since you just gave up all your kiting buttonsBoth of you are wrong.
